The Office of Neighborhood Life’s goal is for our students to take responsibility for fostering good relationships with the permanent residents in their neighborhoods. ONL staff help students learn the importance of conduct and courtesy in a residential community.

Gwendolyn Coleman

Gwen joined the Office of Neighborhood Life in Fall 2017 as the Program Coordinator. During her time at ONL, she has also proudly served as the Community Director for Burleith & Foxhall and as the Assistant Director. Gwen obtained her BS in Biological Sciences from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and is a double Hoya after earning her MPS in Higher Education Administration and MS in Biophysics & Physiology from Georgetown (Hoya Saxa!). Gwen considers herself a lifelong learner and enjoys developing new skills and hobbies. Outside of work, Gwen loves cooking, building Lego sets, hiking with her dog, and spending time with family and friends.

Laré became ONL’s Assistant Director in Spring 2025 and has been with the office for 3 years, previously serving as the Community Director of Burlieth and Foxhall. Laré obtained her BA in Multimedia Journalism with a Minor in Cinema from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and a MPS in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown University (Hoya Saxa!). After working in the Film and Broadcasting industry, she transitioned to Higher Ed with an interest in community building and programming. Outside of work, Laré enjoys video games, photography, movies, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog.
Terrell Hawkins

Terrell joined the Office of Neighborhood Life in Summer 2025 as a Community Director. He earned his BA in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Howard University (Go Bisons!) and a MPS in Higher Education Administration from Georgetown (Hoya Saxa!). With a background in administering federally funded exchange programs and managing large-scale events, Terrell is passionate about student success, community engagement, and cross-cultural dialogue. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring trails with his dog, staying active, cooking new dishes, and going on spontaneous adventures with friends.
Tyler Gilkey

Tyler joined the Office of Neighborhood Life in Spring 2025 as a Community Director. Tyler obtained his BS in Psychology with a Minor in Deaf Studies from Xavier University (Go Muskies!) and his MS in College Student Affairs from Nova Southeastern University. With experience in Residential Education and Diversity Engagement, Tyler was excited to transition to join ONL to gain new skills and experiences engaging students and community members off campus. Outside of work, Tyler enjoys karaoke, painting, spending time with friends, and talking to his two younger siblings.
David Fleury
Program Coordinator

Degree: MPS in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown; BS in Sports and Recreation Management from James Madison University
David started as the Program Coordinator with the Office of Neighborhood Life in the Spring of 2022, where he grew relationships with fellow Hoya students and Neighbors alike in the community. David obtained a BS in S&R Management from James Madison University (Go Dukes!) and an MPS in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown (Hoya Saxa!). In his free time, David loves to play his drum set, frequent the soccer field, and, overall, be with friends.
